The geographical richness and singular coastline of Santa Marta provide a big variety of diving sites with different characteristics and for divers of all levels, besides that the trade winds and the position of Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta had isolated the local coral reefs creating special conditions that protect the coral colonies and had kept the reef safe from coral bleaching.

The most highlighted characteristic of our
diving spots is that in only one dive
you can have a look to most of the fishes of the
Caribbean Coral Reefs, for example is very common
to see three types of parrots fishes, butterfly or angelfish,
as well as lots of trumpet fish, schools of surgeonfish,
different damselfish, sergeants, blue and brown chromis
and moray eels besides others fishes, many different
corals, sponges, lobsters and crabs you are going to be
able to see in the natural environment.

The most visited diving spots are located in three main areas.

La Aguja Island (Tayrona Park)

It`s the only island un the National Park and it has more than 8 different diving spots for all levels, from shore diving like Calichan, drift dives in El Salidero, deep dives in Morrito Largo or if the sea allow us visiting specially protected reefs like El Torin or El Coro.

Granate (Tayrona Park)

Is the first bay in the south side of Tayrona Park and has a very interesting characteristic, the dry forest that changes the color of the mountains as the raining session come and go.

This protected area provide very calm and nice dive sites to see a very interesting coral reef like in La Pecera, Punta Granate, La Montañita y El Cantil.

Santa Marta Bay:

If want to spend more time underwater than traveling by boat this is the place for you, located at only 15 minutes of or diving center. Even though it is close by the bay offers a big variety of diving sots for different levels.

El Morro de Santa Marta, In this island that holds the city’s lighthouse you can do even four different dives, from shallow dives to drifting dives in currents or deep and multilevel dives.

Punta Betin,On this end of the bay you can see son wreck ships that used to transport coal for the city`s port, in only one dive you can visit two of them at 7 and 15 meters deep or another for advanced divers at 34 meters.

Gaira Bay

For our personalized services or when the weather conditions are tuff we have some local dive spots where you can do your first dives, your open water training or even your advanced certification. In this bay you can find more than three different diving spots.

Playa Blanca:  Ideal for the practices with the first experience divers as it has pool like conditions, but if you are already certificated and want to do something more adventurous this place have some fun currents to drift in.

Barco Hundido:  It`s a wreck ship that was sunk by Ospina Navia Capitan (Colombian adventurer know for traveling with Jacques Cousteau in Colombia) so people could go diving it without scuba gear but them a storm moved to the place where is right now at a depth of 28 meters deep so you can only go if you have your advanced certification.
